It's starting to slow down around here, and so much of that is because we have officially put our 2017 summer garden to rest. It was so much more giving than we've ever had in the past, which is so exciting, but also was a lot of work to keep up with. As the kids get older, they are helping out a bit more. And also leaving buckets out everywhere. Even so, the helping we will take. It's so nice to see the beauty of the changing seasons, and seeing my kids play change through these seasons as well. Tomato forests torn down to make tomato cage cities, with lighthouses, and shelters. This foggy morning, with all of us working together, not perfect, but at the same time is what I dream of.
A chicken feast almost fit for a human. Clara was jealous. We had to keep her away from the tomatoes, otherwise she would have eaten them.
Hair in her face always. Poor child. Where is your mother?
We have garlic, shallots and onions ready for next year. And pretty little signs thanks to Evie.
And luckily for us, these workers take payment in the form of leftover Halloween candy.
