This girl and her 8 years with us have gone by so quickly. She isn't too crazy about "picture day", but she did put up with me for two nights, to get some shots of her at this age. She's such a blessing to us. She's my helper, loves to read and cook, and is coming up with inventions on paper all the time. Always ALWAYS full of energy, and is the leader in the chaos that is happening in our house a lot of the time. How lucky her siblings are to have her leading. They have fun ;) Happy birthday to my oldest, the one that stole my heart first (after her daddy, of course ;) ).

Hey all, so glad you're here! Thanks for coming through if you are here from Sonia's blog. If not, get comfy and treat yourself to some goodness as you make your way through the Life Unscripted blog circle back to her. I'm always excited to see what everyone's month has been like, and I'm sure you will enjoy it as well. August, is of course, the coming of the end of summer for us, and every year around this time my husband's home town has a carnival. It's great to have something to look forward to, even though seeing summer go is sometimes hard to do! Once August starts up, my kids are always counting down to it. We took a sneak peak Thursday night of them setting up on Main Street. Friday morning is full of games for the kids, car shows, and a horse show. We try to go to as much as we can! We go downtown Friday night and ride some rides, and eat some forbidden foods. ;) It's so fun seeing your kids growing up. He wasn't sure about the ride, but made the tough choice to try, and was so glad he did. Not tall enough..... The struggle to keep his shoes on is all the time. He got it on just in time, but I was so worried it would fly off and hit someone while he was in motion! It stayed in place though, phew! Still not tall enough.... Down the street a ways is a park with a blue grass band, where we met up with family, maybe did a little dancing, and cooled down. The walk back to the car always has some distractions, but that happens in regular parking lots too. :D And Saturday morning is the parade. You must bring your bag to grab any candy thrown your way, and your water...because it is HOT. After the festivities, we cool down with a nice family lunch. A perfect ending to the weekend. Thanks again for looking in. Next up is the always amazing, always darling images of AnnMarie of One33 Photography. Go see her post here!
Kids are busy, messy, whiney, and tiresome. But they're also your joy. I can't even comprehend how different my life would be if I didn't have these sweet moments with these people in my day. They can take such simple things, like a swing, make a game of it, and, before you know it, everyone is laughing and having a good time with it. In an instant, changing the mood of your day. Then there's this guy. He's normally my happy go lucky one, so we'll let this 'tude slide. ;)
Rough days happen. It's for some reason hard for me to remove myself from my list that needs to get done daily, but when I do, it is so good for my soul and for them. Let them take you outside and play. Hey all! Welcome to July's installment for the Life {Unscripted} blog circle. We're a group of photographers that have a love for capturing those moments that are candid and unplanned. I hope you're here from Natalie's of Act Naturally Photography's blog, but if not, you can follow the links to get back to her page! Our July has been just what I think it should be. A lot of time spent with family celebrating Independence day, birthdays, and enjoying this time together. We've had several nests hatch and have been having fun cuddling little baby ducks and chickens. It's been so fun eating all of those summer foods, being outdoors, and also getting in our yearly swimming lessons, which two of my three kids really enjoy ;) Thanks for looking in! Up next is Chrissy Ray Photography, and you can click here to see what she's been up to!
Growing up, I was a tomboy and loved to play all the sports with the boys at recess. I would make army men with all of the boys and fight battles with them. Even the boy I had a crush on said he liked me because, "she is just like one of the guys."...I remember not being too thrilled when I was told that compliment, but it did make sense. Naturally, I imagined growing up and raising a house full of boys. Well, that didn't happen. I do have a daughter that is a tomboy just like I was, a very girly girl, and this boy, who ended up not being not at all what I had envisioned having a boy would be like. He's my easy kid, my giver, my sensitive one, and always always always up for a hug or cuddle. He is, of course, very boy in that he loves his legos, wrestling, soccer, learning about animals and nature, and is always always moving, he just came with some boy perks that I wasn't expecting. I decided to take him to a nearby town for some pictures, but I don't know what I was thinking. This kid is hard enough to get to look at the camera, so being in a city with distractions everywhere.... was fun, but challenging at times ;) Also, sorry this is so long, but he's a boy of many faces, and I had a hard time choosing which ones to leave out! I also took him to a cute little church we often drive by, and no, I won't add those because this post would be sooo long, but I couldn't help but put in a few of the cuteness that we found there. Yes, we were both definitely pretty tempted to kidnap these two... I'm pretty sure these little guys will grow up quickly too.
“She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares nothing for rules or customs. 'Time' for her isn’t something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water.” ― Roman Payne Three years ago today, you made your appearance into this world. For three years now you've been our sweet and sassy, pink loving, banana stealing, confident, smart, book hoarding, surprise pouncing little girlie girl that has brought so much laughter. You're our bravest child. The child that plays hard with her siblings, but is so gentle with all the animals. You love being outside, and being a wanderer, but that can be a dangerous combo. And you are never scared, which makes it even more scary for your parents. When you're angry, you're so angry. When you're happy, you smile bright and love hard. Like you're sister, you have a commanding spirit. You know how things should be going, and aren't timid to hold back your thoughts if you think people are going contrary to that. Though it can make things difficult at times, I know this can be transformed into something great as you get older. You don't mind getting too messy, and you love changing outfits....like four or more times a day love. Your hair is never something to fret over as, no matter how I put it up, you will undoubtedly pull it free in an hour or so. It's just as well because I think it fits your vagabond style. Hair a beautiful mess, all over the place, and always slightly in your eyes for a little added mystery. Because, let's be honest, though we're getting better, no one really knows what going on in that little head of yours. We love the bright treasure that you are, and all that you've added to our lives now, for three whole years. Because of something discovered during your birth, the doctor turned to me and your dad and said, " You really need to be thanking someone that she is here with you today." And yes, we have our times, but I don't think there has been a day that I haven't. Happy birthday my little "big" girl. We love you and can't wait to see what this next year brings.
Welcome to the Life {Unscripted} blog circle! I hope you're coming here from Crystals adorable post, but if not, be sure to follow the links to get back to see the exciting time her son had this month! You really don't want to miss it! Well here we are in the month of June, which is the start to my absolute favorite time of the year! It's the start of birthday celebrations, anniversary's, holidays, and visits to fairs (when time allows) . And we get to just all be together enjoying being outside every day playing and eating popsicles. Of course our schedules have been busier, and I've been leaving my camera behind a lot of the time on our outings, so most of these are going to be our at home shots. Something I'll have to improve upon for next month. But this is definitely us, in all of our unscripted glory. We ended May with a lovely Memorial Day, getting together with family with food and for a time of remembrance of those that we miss. We've also had a night of trying to catch fireflies. Our first attempt we ended up rescuing this little guy from our cat and then letting him go in the field across from us. But not before getting him a meal of cheese, or course ;) We did eventually catch some fireflies. Not a super ideal background, but I've been trying to get a pregnancy picture every four weeks. Here's the beginning of the month at 20 weeks and the halfway point with this little kiddo. Aaaannnndd I'm, I mean, she's a lot bigger now ;) And a few of our day to day moments. Thank you so much for stopping in! Next up is Stacey from Soul Threading. Whenever I encounter her imagery and way of writing I'm always stopped in my tracks. She is an amazing artist, and such a positive influence in the photography community. You can see her post here.
Welcome to my May version of the Life {Unscripted} blog circle! If you're here from Diana's page, thank you for continuing through. If not, no worries! You can follow our links and you will come around to her while also visiting some other spring goodness from the rest of the team. I have to say we had so much fun getting out last month, but May has been unusually rainy and cool for our area. It's been so rainy, we haven't gotten out as much as we would like to, but I'll take it over freezing temps any day! If I would use one word to describe our month, it would be messy! You'll not be seeing to many picture of my house from this month, as all of the mud has been impossible to keep up with on my floors...and sometimes kiddos ;) My kids always love seeing their grandparents, and this visit they got to go to the local science museum for a little fun and exploration. It's always tricky trying to find the right bed to nap in when we're not at home. Though it's been messy, we still try to get out to the garden. The rain has also made a massive puddle that goes almost the whole length of our street. Of course the kids are loving having a mini pond to play in. Her choice in puddle jumpers made me laugh. Leave it to her to choose a pair of mommy's heals to play in. And lastly, just a few bits and pieces from the days in between. Thank you all so much for stopping in! Don't forget to follow the circle around to see what everyone has been up to! Up next is the one and only Meagan Dwyer of Meagan Dwyer Photography! It's amazing what she did in just five minutes of photographing her daughter! Check out her blog post here .
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out what the Life {Unscripted} team has been up to for April. I always love to be able to go through and see what everyone's been doing while being inspired at the same time. It's such a lovely treat for me! It's really been a breath of fresh air for us to be able to get out and get a change of scenery this month. Though we have still been housebound for a few days due to rain, the beautiful greenery is an excellent trade off for the drab winter months. We were even able to get our swimsuits on for a couple of days to pretend it was summer (in an indoor pool ;) ). Thanks again for looking in! Next up is Sonia Epple Fotografie. Her warm images and rich tones are always so delightful to look at. She is one of those that you can recognize her work right away, and they feel so homey! Enjoy!
She is in so many of my pictures right now. It my be because she's fun. It may be because she's my kid that does best at not changing how she acts when the camera is on her. It is most likely because she is one that I can't trust to take my eyes off of, so we're together a lot. She is time well spent, for sure.
